Job Title Senior Certification Depot Logistic Technician (Shelton, CT) Location(s) Shelton Job Description The Senior Certification Depot Logistic Technician role with support both the Service Depot Team and Logistics. The role will perform functions associated with manufacturing operations, including working with engineers in set-up, performing rework and quality testing for subassemblies and instruments. The primary goal is to drive favorable savings and revenue initiatives for the business while interacting with multiple disciplines, functions and other locations both locally and globally to achieve these objectives. Logistically the role will perform the physical or administrative tasks involved in shipping, receiving, storing, distributing and order fulfillment of merchandise, products, materials, parts, supplies and equipment. Location: This is an onsite role in Shelton, CT.

Requirements

  • Assoc degree or technical certificate (Mechanical or Electrical) and 2-4 years’ experience in technical or production assembly role OR 5-7 yrs equivalent on the job manufacturing experience
  • Good working knowledge in SAP system
  • Must have experience with preparing and or interpreting material reports and a basic understanding of materials systems

  • General understanding of machinery and mechanics
  • Basic mechanical tools knowledge and experience preferred
  • Basic technical mechanical aptitude desired
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics and technical documents
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies, business systems and procedures as they relate to the job to remain current with industry standards and new products
  • SAP & Service Max knowledge and experience desired
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Good oral and written communication
  • Willing to work overtime when required
  • Ability to use / learn to use power equipment for movement of materials
  • Ability to use /learn to use shipment processing systems
  • Ability to process / learn to process hazardous material shipments in accordance with standards

Responsibilities

  • Assembles and repairs various complex technical electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Adheres to procedures (photodocs) to meet quality specifications for each job and not deviate from procedures.
  • Perform diagnostic, troubleshooting and repair of electro-mechanical components, sub-assemblies and instruments in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Ability to collect and evaluate operating data to adjust as part of repairing and testing of instruments.
  • Interface with Technical support and Engineering for root cause analysis for instrument repair, as required.
  • Manage transactional documents (paper and/or electronic) as they relate to the repair work.
  • Material handling and work transactions.
  • Follow and adhere to all PKI policies and procedures as applicable.
  • Report issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and presentable work environment.
  • Maintain training and compliance in areas of health and safety, security, environmental and operational aspects of daily activities in the working environment.
  • Supports Logistic needs of Shelton R&D, Service Depot, Instrument refurb, and all other Shelton site needs.
  • Receives, packs, unpacks, moves/lifts, locates, identifies issues and ships variety of materials and packages.
  • Interfaces with the Americas Logistics Team for transport claims.
  • Inputs and retrieves data via SAP and ancillary systems.
  • Handles and stores hazardous materials in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • May be required to communicate an awareness of general safety practices.
  • Meets established standards of accuracy and quality.
  • Will operate forklifts and/or powered pallet trucks.
  • Will operate crane used to pack and unpack instrumentation.
  • Nothing in this job description restricts management’s right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities of this job at any time Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. unassisted and frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit and stand for long periods of time
  • Be able to reach at, above and below shoulder level, flex/extend neck and have good hand and finger dexterity
  • Physically able to operate stackers and pallet jacks
