The Job: As a Sr. Category Manager, you’ll be part of our Outdoor Power Group (OPG) Category Management team. This role is based in Towson, where you will work side-by-side with key members of the product management team. You will be expected to facilitate strong, collaborative relationships between product and category managers, which is essential for success in this role. You are confident in collaboration, decision-making, and alignment with product strategy. You’ll get to: Market Analysis: Monitor industry trends and innovations to identify growth opportunities and differentiation. Gather and synthesize cross-functional insights to assess the competitive landscape, category trends, and market dynamics. Understand the commercial environment and customer needs to support optimized product launches Strategy Development & Communication: Translate market intelligence into actionable insights to drive category growth, product prioritization, and go-to-market plans. Educate internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with category strategies and initiatives. Relationship Building: Collaborate with brand and product managers to develop comprehensive product and merchandising plans. Partner with commercial and channel teams to manage and optimize assortments. Lead, mentor, and develop category analysts. Product Lifecycle Management: Advise on product lifecycle decisions, including margin analysis, SKU rationalization, and product development prioritization. Guide early-stage new product development to align with category strategy. Financials & KPI Tracking Provide category financial analysis for annual quoting and line review process. Monitor and report on KPIs to evaluate assortment strategy effectiveness. Own category P&L and business performance reporting (e.g., Quarterly Business Reviews, Product Portfolio Reviews). Drive continuous process improvement, ensuring alignment with category strategy throughout the product lifecycle.
