About The Position

In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert for assigned product and/or service categories while managing a moderate to high-complexity contract portfolio. You will develop and execute category strategies, lead competitive sourcing and negotiations, and build strong client and supplier relationships to deliver measurable value, cost savings, and operational efficiency. You will apply market insights, financial analysis, and healthcare industry knowledge to drive portfolio performance and support organizational objectives.

Requirements

  • Relevant degree preferred.
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience required. (e.g., clinical / medical nutrition, category management, sourcing, contracting, supply chain).
  • Strong strategic thinking and financial acumen.
  • Advanced negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Ability to manage complex portfolios and multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to analyze data and translate insights into strategy.
  • Willingness to travel.

Nice To Haves

  • Registered Dietitian (RD) with Clinical Nutrition experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a moderate to high-complexity portfolio of contracts, including high-visibility, high-utilization, and legally complex agreements.
  • Lead request-for-proposal strategy development and negotiations in partnership with Contract Managers.
  • Develop, execute, and implement category and contract strategies to maximize value for clients and suppliers.
  • Incorporate client input through councils, task forces, and other forums into category and contracting initiatives.
  • Analyze market trends, emerging technologies, utilization patterns, and shifts in sites of care to inform category decisions.
  • Translate market intelligence and data insights into actionable strategies that improve portfolio performance and client outcomes.
  • Communicate category insights, industry trends, and contract enhancements to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Own and manage strategic supplier relationships, including leading supplier business reviews and planning sessions.
  • Partner with clients and suppliers to drive engagement, conversions, and value-based initiatives.
  • Identify and address portfolio gaps, including evaluating and onboarding new suppliers when appropriate.
  • Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and revenue plans to measure category and contract performance.
  • Research category markets and analyze pricing, utilization, and performance data to support negotiations and strategy development.
