The team is responsible for effectively partnering with cross-functional teams in Marketing, Product, Technology, Supply, Advertising, Servicing, and Corporate Functions to deliver the best traveler and business outcomes. The Senior Category Manager (Brand Expedia) is responsible for developing and implementing business strategy, leading the definition, planning, and execution of strategic projects. This role partners closely with cross‑functional teams to identify business challenges, shape data‑driven solutions, and drive initiatives that advance organizational goals.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 6+ years with a Master’s degree.
  • Proven experience developing and executing business strategies and leading cross‑functional strategic initiatives.
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities with a demonstrated commitment to test‑and‑learn approaches and data‑driven decision‑making.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization and drive alignment across diverse teams.
  • Ability to craft compelling, insight‑driven narratives using data and communicate them clearly to a wide audience.
  • Demonstrated ability to scope, plan, and deliver strategic projects involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Developing subject‑matter expertise in key business topics, with the ability to translate insights into actionable plans.

  • Experience serving as a trusted advisor to leaders and cross‑functional partners on strategy, operational improvements, or business transformation.

Responsibilities

  • Define the ambition and strategic priorities for Brand Expedia Lodging (Hotels & VR), delivering profitable top line growth in the short and long term, and KPI improvements (bookings, ADR, conversion, customer satisfaction, repeat rates) in partnership with cross-functional teams.
  • Leverage performance and analytical insights to ensure successful execution against the financial plan.
  • Identify risks and opportunities to inform executive decisions.
  • Utilize data analytics and insights to identify opportunities and understand customer needs.
  • Obsess about the E2E experience to ensure Expedia is competitive and differentiated in the market and the preferred marketplace
  • Identify P&L tradeoffs and investment allocations across pricing, promotions, product changes, and supplier-funded incentives.
  • Build and prioritize a roadmap of commercial initiatives that drive profitable growth and collaborate cross-functionally (Marketing, Pricing, Product, Supply, Service, Legal, Finance) to execute end-to-end, and ensure smooth implementation and operational adoption.
  • Partner with Product to prioritize key feature needs, and develop and test initiatives to improve conversion.
  • Collaborate with Supply to identify new opportunities to grow the business.
  • Partner with local market managers to prioritize localization needs in order to deliver on Expedia’s growth ambitions.
