The City of Phoenix Water Services Department, one of the nation's largest potable water utilities, treats and delivers safe, reliable drinking water to 1.5 million customers across approximately 540 square miles. Phoenix Water Services also manages the sewer collection system and treats wastewater for 2.5 million residents in metropolitan Phoenix. The Water Services Department Water and Wastewater Engineering Divisions are seeking up to two candidates to manage projects and programs which for the water utility could include existing and new pipelines ranging from 24-inches to 108-inches in diameter, and related facilities, booster pump stations, steel tanks, concrete reservoirs, pressure reducing valve stations, and water production and ASR wells. For the wastewater utility, projects could include sewer main assessments, manhole assessments, and force main and lift station assessment, rehabilitation and replacement. This position's responsibilities include: Management of CIP replacement and rehabilitation projects at various facilities and in the right-of-way, and will require active participation in managing the planning, design and construction of projects, Development of project scope and cost estimates and facilitation of long-range planning, Procurement and administration of construction contracts, Technical review of design plans and specifications, Coordination of design and construction activities with customers, Operational staff, and other City Departments, Integration of final construction documents into the Work and Asset Management systems.
