About The Position

Essential Functions •    Prepare, solicit, and evaluate technical requests for quotation documents. •    Acts as a primary contact for supplier negotiations and contracts for all responsible purchases. •    Acquire materials, supplies, packaging, and services, placing purchase orders for goods that have requisition approval. •    Maintains constant contact and coordination with end users, suppliers, subcontractors, and freight companies to ensure compliance with each contract. •    Provide cost analysis data to management for strategic decision making •    Manager new model material, component, equipment, or tooling readiness projects. •    Foster and develop a “Development Partner” philosophy to select, develop and manage suppliers: Ethical Behavior, Mutual Trust, Respect, Candor, Continuous Improvement.   •    Act as a primary contact for supplier negotiations and contracts on assigned commodities.   •    Assist plant and suppliers in continuous improvement efforts.   •    Act as primary contact in resolving issues that the plant has with suppliers. •    Coordinates with Engineering, Quality Assurance, Production Control, Manufacturing, Maintenance and Aisan Engineering and Purchasing to investigate and screen potential suppliers to determine if suppliers meet the Aisan technical requirements. •    Manage, develop and implement Supplier Performance measures for quality, cost and on-time delivery improvements. •    Conduct market research, evaluation, and selection of new and current technology options. •    Ensures that contractual language for capital contracts protects company interests. •    Develops comprehensive project resources and mobilization plans. •    May approve purchase orders in responsible management’s absence. •    Supports Kaizen and continuous improvement activities to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve processes •    Other duties as assigned Additional Functions

Requirements

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in constructing analytical tools for decision making using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Technical aptitude and inclination.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to forge internal customer and external supplier relationships
  • Deadline and results-oriented
  • Working knowledge of budgeting methods and financial controls.
  • Able to lead productive and efficient meetings, and direct activities of buyers and Procurement support staff.
  • Working knowledge of exchange rate conversions and raw material indices.
  • Intermediate working knowledge of injection molding, metal stamping, forging, extrusion, and metal forming processes.
  • Able to efficiently identify quotation inconsistencies and potential errors based on general market knowledge, and comparison to other quotations offered to FPI.
  • BS in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related STEM discipline or minimum 3-years Supply Chain, Purchasing / Procurement, or related experience.
