About The Position

FlexStaff is seeking a seasoned Senior Buyer with experience purchasing
electronic and electromechanical parts, preferably in the aerospace/defense
industry, to work for one of our clients, an electronics manufacturer, located
in Melville, NY.

This is a permanent, full-time job.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree. Graduate degree preferred.
• Minimum 5+ years in in purchasing electronic and electromechanical parts.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Responsibilities

• Review assigned purchase requisitions to verify item descriptions, part numbers, specifications, and other details, then place orders in line with company policies.
• Identify and qualify suppliers that offer competitive pricing, reliable delivery, and consistent quality.
• Manage, expedite, and monitor open purchase orders through to completion.
• Maintain organized and up-to-date records for all in-process orders.
• Meet with sales representatives and vendors; route product literature to the appropriate departments.
• Serve as a liaison between internal departments and vendors to ensure efficient communication and workflow.
• Source and onboard new suppliers for both recurring and new material requirements.
• Consolidate and schedule orders from multiple requests to leverage volume discounts.
