About The Position

CERTEX USA is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Senior Buyer to join our Corporate team in Phoenix. Position Overview The Senior Buyer will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of materials, supplies and services at the most favorable terms for the organization. This position demands a high level of expertise in vendor qualifications, bid evaluations, and negotiation, and contract management. The Senior Buyer may also assume a team lead role, providing guidance and support to junior staff while driving procurement strategies that align with the organization’s goals.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to take initiative and drive decisions independently.
  • Expertise in negotiation, vendor management, and contract administration.
  • Advance knowledge of procurement processes and industry best practices
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience analyzing data, detail oriented
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and purchasing software.
  • Ability to mentor and lead a team while working effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • 7 or more years of related experience in procurement or purchasing, with a proven track record of handling complex purchasing tasks.
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Office environment
  • Regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15lbs.
  • Requires the visual ability to perform detailed work at close distances (computer screens, accounting ledgers, using measurement devices).
  • This job regularly requires verbal communication of detailed information to others either by phone or in person.
  • Must be able to speak and read the English language.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage the purchasing process for complex materials, supplies, and services, ensuring the best prices and terms.
  • Key member of the acquisition implementation team responsible for product mapping, training and overseeing the go-live process.
  • Lead the vendor qualification process and evaluate bids, making informed decisions that optimize cost-efficiency and quality.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with vendors, managing long-term supplier relationships to maximize organizational value.
  • Take ownership of purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery, compliance with terms, and addressing any issues that arise with suppliers.
  • Oversee vendor performance and quality, taking corrective actions when necessary to maintain high standards.
  • Maintain and update a comprehensive vendor database, ensuring accurate supplier information, pricing, and contract terms, and any relevant updates such as product discontinuation or recalls.
  • Take on a leadership role, providing guidance and support to junior procurement team members as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to align purchasing decisions with organizational needs and project timelines.
  • Lead the development and implementation of procurement strategies to improve cost savings, operational efficiency, and supplier performance, including managing key purchasing decisions and overseeing the overall inventory and stock management strategy.
  • Supervise purchasing decisions and oversee the development and execution of the inventory/stock strategy, including both physical and cycle count processes throughout the year.
  • Collaborates with the Help Desk to ensure smooth operations and training support.
  • Perform other related tasks and duties as assigned.
