Senior Buyer - Project

About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Buyer to support a semiconductor EPC project. This role is primarily responsible for managing sourcing and buying workflows (including commercial negotiations) plus establishing robust contractual terms and conditions with subcontractors and vendors prior to the issuance of purchase orders for industrial water treatment plant and machinery. The ideal candidate will have strong commercial acumen, experience in complex project environments, and the ability to work closely with cross-functional, multinational teams. Location: Tampa and/or Phoenix (preferred).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of procurement experience, with a strong focus on commercial negotiations
  • Strong understanding of contract law, commercial terms, and procurement best practices
  • Proven ability to negotiate complex agreements with multiple stakeholders
  • Familiarity with subcontracting strategies and vendor management
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a site-based, fast-paced project environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in semiconductor, EPC, construction, or industrial projects is highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead commercial negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers to achieve optimal pricing, delivery, and contractual terms
  • Evaluate and register new vendors
  • Develop, review, and finalize terms and conditions aligned with project, legal, and corporate requirements
  • Collaborate with engineering, project management, legal, and construction teams to ensure procurement strategies support project execution
  • Evaluate vendor proposals, identify commercial risks, and implement mitigation strategies
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, client requirements, and industry standards
  • Support the preparation and issuance of RFQs/RFPs, bid evaluations, and recommendation reports
  • Drive cost optimization while maintaining quality and schedule commitments
  • Manage vendor clarifications and ensure alignment before purchase order placement
  • Maintain accurate documentation of negotiations, agreements, and procurement decisions
