About The Position

The Senior Buyer – Outdoor Living will work in conjunction with the planning teams and execute on all aspects of purchasing for the Outdoor Living business unit. The Buyer will work closely with production planners to ensure material availability aligns with manufacturing schedules, monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages and/or overstocking. The Buyer will drive process improvement as well as build and maintain strong vendor partnerships.

Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite Software and relevant tools/technology.
SAP proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the execution of purchase orders from PO creation to receipt within given categories. (PO Ownership.)
Owns maintenance of costing & PO data within SAP.
Responsible for tasks related to purchase orders including maintaining accurate delivery dates within SAP, confirmation & acceptance of POs.
Ownership of the functional day-to-day relationships with our vendor partners.
Track and manage backorders & vendor service changes (lead-times, inventory allocation, cost changes).
Owns the PO-related communication of vendor service changes.
Drive process improvement.
Identify pricing variance across DCs to drive cost-out opportunities.
Work with suppliers & internal quality teams to identify and resolve quality concerns and issues.
Hold our vendors to our expectations of quality, delivery and cost.
Collaborate with AP team for resolution of invoice discrepancies.
Work with DCs to resolve issues related to good receipts and/or vendor shipments.
Drives Fill Rate corrective actions – research, communication and follow-up.
Assists with additional tasks to support team objectives, as requested by PrimeSource Management team.
