About The Position

Sr. Buyer – Direct Materials Your role: As Sr. Buyer Direct Materials, you will be directly responsible for ordering retail bags within our pack centers and continue to take on more responsibilities of ordering larger format bags (currently 12 locations in total). This senior role will also have responsibility for managing the enrichments and ingredients across Canada and supporting the category managers with RFPs and/or quotes for packaging and ingredients as they arise to help the overall direct materials group within Ardent Mills. This roll will continue to be responsible for all graphics and the system that supports these efforts, Jaggaer contracts and pricing, and drive a continuous improvement mindset across these categories and within our procurement space. Requirements

  • 5-8 years of sourcing and/or supply chain / operations experience
  • Packaging / Food Manufacturing Experience
  • Successful collaboration across functions; understanding strategies/requirements and prioritize
  • Experience in contracting, buying and vendor managed inventory where it exists and / or needed
  • Ensure sense of urgency when serving our customers or internal team members

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent level of experience
  • ISM – CPM or CPSM accreditation preferred or equivalent
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in ERP, MS Office, Power BI, Power Apps
  • Self-lead and able to drive execution to desired results

Responsibilities

  • Own the entire graphics process and set up for all new graphics across the packaging space for internal and external (customers)
  • Creating and distributing empty bag ordering tool weekly to support bag ordering across our network.
  • Placing PO’s for retail bags and supporting large pack mill as they relinquish control of large bag ordering for their respective mills
  • Ingredient and Enrichment – management within Canada – (own this piece) - `117 suppliers - $8MM in spend
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. (Examples: leading sourcing events, negotiations, cross-functional business projects and/or developing / implementing business solutions)
