About The Position

Gardner Health Services is currently recruiting to fill a Senior Business Office Clerk (BOC) position. This position is based out of our Homeless Services Program in San Jose, California. Under the general direction of the Clinic Manager, the Senior BOC Provides supervision, evaluation, and training of all Business Office Staff. The Senior BOC acts as liaison between medical, clerical, and billing staff and is responsible for maintaining the highest standard of service to our patients. Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalency, or equivalent experience.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish, required.
  • Must be familiar with all Epic Payer Codes. Must be able to assist patients and other BOC staff to assure that services are billed correctly and processed in a timely manner.
  • Quality customer service provided to patients is a key component of a successful Business Office Clerk. Creating a rapport with the patient can be an important aspect of the healing process. The kindness and respect projected by the Business Office Clerk can set the tone for a quality patient/clinician visit.
  • Promotes a healthy professional rapport with co-workers/team can create a positive experience for all. Clear communication can also promote proficiency in the work environment.

  • Must have good time management skills.
  • Required to maintain organization both efficiently and accurately with high patient flow demands.
