About The Position

The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer plays a critical role in enabling data‑driven decision making across healthcare operations, clinical quality, finance, and population health initiatives. This role designs and delivers scalable analytics solutions that transform complex healthcare data into trusted insights while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and data governance standards. The ideal candidate combines strong BI engineering skills with a deep understanding of healthcare data domains such as clinical, claims, operational, and quality metrics.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of Business Intelligence, Analytics Engineering, or Data Engineering experience
  • 3+ years of technical experience in SQL with advanced experience in T-SQL
  • 2+ years of experience in the development of interactive reports using Power BI and Databricks
  • Advanced experience working with big and complex data sets within large organizations
  • Experience analyzing data to solve a wide variety of business problems and create data visualizations that drive strategic direction
  • Proficiency in understanding Healthcare related data
  • Proficiency in verbal and written communication to senior and executive leadership
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Power Apps and Power Automate
  • Experience with tools such as Tableau and Qlik for creating data visualizations
  • Expertise in data mining, forecasting, simulation, and/or predictive modeling
  • Experience creating analytics solutions for various healthcare sectors

Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain BI dashboards and analytics solutions supporting: Financial performance, revenue cycle, and cost analytics
  • Operational efficiency and capacity planning
  • Develop healthcare‑optimized data models (claims, encounters, providers, members, patients)
  • Partner with business leaders to define KPIs and measures
  • Ensure data accuracy, auditability, and traceability for regulatory reporting
  • Implement data governance standards including metric definitions and lineage
  • Optimize SQL queries and BI models for large‑scale healthcare datasets
  • Ensure HIPAA compliance and secure handling of PHI/PII within analytics platforms
  • Support CMS, HEDIS, STARs, NCQA, and internal quality reporting needs
  • Mentor analysts and BI engineers on healthcare data best practices
