About The Position

Become a part of our caring community and help us put health first The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer solves complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer describes the tools, technologies, applications and practices used to collect, integrate, analyze, and present an organization's raw data to create insightful and actionable business information. This position will utilize data to identify process improvements by doing root cause analysis. This role will drive a better understanding of the data and what the data is showing. Additionally, this role will help in determining and maintaining our quality and controls methodology around data analytics. Use your skills to make an impact

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with large datasets, Data Analysis, and reporting within large organizations
  • Minimum 3 years of SQL experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Power BI or similar visualization tool
  • Minimum 2 years of experience leading and guiding cross-functional projects with other business teams to solve complex company initiatives
  • Experience creating analytics solutions for various healthcare sectors
  • Experience analyzing data to solve a wide variety of business problems and create data visualizations that drive strategic direction
  • Proficiency in verbal and written communication to senior and executive leadership
  • At minimum, a download speed of 25 mbps and an upload speed of 10 mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested
  • Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership
  • Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
  • Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
  • Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of SSIS experience or similar ETL tools
  • Minimum 2 years of Python experience
  • Minimum 1 year of experience developing automations for business processes using scripting languages
