Waymo's Product Data Science team works cross-functionally with Engineering, Product and Operations to help the company make the most informed decisions using data. Our team collaborates on high-impact projects across the company - from driving quality and operational efficiency to market analysis and rider satisfaction scores - we help to safely and efficiently scale the Waymo Driver. We are data-driven, curious, open-minded, and adapt quickly to new information. In this hybrid role, you will report to a Product Data Science Lead.

  • Partner with Product Managers, Engineers, Program Managers to identify the right measurement for business performance, design and implement foundational data pipelines, and build the right reports and visualizations to drive insights.
  • Develop deep understanding of various metrics, datasets, and data sources in relation to the rich business and operational context across the entire product landscape.
  • Build and maintain state of the art reporting infrastructure to enable continuous decision making
  • Perform advanced analytical modelling as necessary to help drive the right decisions.
  • Drive a culture of excellence and help establish best practices within the broader data science team.
  • 5+ years of experience in a related technical field or equivalent practical experience
  • Ability to scope, structure, and solve ambiguous problems independently
  • Coding experience with Python and SQL to design and implement complex data pipelines following best practices
  • Statistical knowledge/data intuition
  • Experience interacting with senior leadership
  • Experience in the AV industry / Mapping / Ridesharing / Consumer Tech / People Analytics
