About The Position

The purpose of this role is to support the organisation in achieving its strategic objectives by identifying business requirements and solutions that address business problems and opportunities. As a Senior Business Analyst at Barclays, you will embark on a transformative journey to redefine the future of banking and craft innovative solutions. This role specifically focuses on translating business needs into clear, actionable requirements and supporting coordinated delivery across stakeholders and systems for the Client Onboarding program. You will lead front-to-back business and impact analysis, work independently with key stakeholders, manage interdependencies, and bring clarity in complex or ambiguous environments.

Requirements

  • Experience in the securities industry, including client onboarding and regulated financial processes
  • Ability to document end-to-end processes, dependencies, and data movement across systems
  • Advanced analytical and data skills, including performance measurements, root-cause analysis, and hands-on SQL for reconciliation and investigation
  • Experience leading requirements gathering and translating needs into clear, actionable documentation
  • Proven ability to manage stakeholders, align business and technology teams, and communicate effectively at an executive level

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Account Management Systems, including client onboarding and maintenance, data governance, and integrations with downstream platforms such as KYC and AML workflows
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar delivery and backlog-management tools
  • Understanding of system integrations and data flows, supporting scalable onboarding and client lifecycle solutions

Responsibilities

  • Identify and analyze business problems and client requirements that necessitate change within the organisation.
  • Develop business requirements to address identified business problems and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure proposed solutions meet their needs and expectations.
  • Support the creation of business cases to justify investment in proposed solutions.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to determine the viability of proposed solutions.
  • Support the creation of reports on project progress to ensure proposed solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Create operational design and process design to ensure proposed solutions are delivered within the agreed scope.
  • Support change management activities, including the development of a traceability matrix, to ensure successful implementation and embedding of solutions.
  • Advise and influence decision-making, contribute to policy development, and take responsibility for operational effectiveness.
  • Collaborate closely with other functions and business divisions.
  • Lead a team performing complex tasks, using professional knowledge and skills to deliver work impacting the business function (if leadership responsibilities).
  • Set objectives, coach employees, appraise performance, and determine reward outcomes (if leadership responsibilities).
  • Lead collaborative assignments and guide team members through structured assignments (if individual contributor).
  • Identify new directions for assignments and/or projects, combining cross-functional methodologies or practices.
  • Consult on complex issues, providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and develop new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls.
  • Perform work requiring an understanding of how different areas coordinate to achieve organisational objectives.
  • Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple internal and external sources to solve problems creatively and effectively.
  • Communicate complex information, including sensitive or difficult content.
  • Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
