The Senior Business Analyst is a lead contributor responsible for driving requirements definition, process improvement, and solution delivery for Group Insurance Sales Enablement and Underwriting initiatives. This role requires advanced product knowledge, particularly in Underwriting, and well-developed elicitation and facilitation skills. You will partner with Product Owners, journey teams, and stakeholders to shape high-impact solutions, mentor junior analysts, and ensure seamless integration of business and technology objectives. Operating within an Agile framework, you will own the end-to-end process from discovery through implementation.

Requirements

  • Deep product and process knowledge in Underwriting, Group Insurance, or Quoting systems
  • Advanced requirements elicitation and facilitation skills; able to lead workshops and drive consensus
  • Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences
  • Expertise in process mapping, solution design, and business analysis tools (e.g., Miro, Visio, JIRA, RALLY)
  • Agile methodology experience and proven track record in cross-functional teams
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, influence, and lead others

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or related field
  • Significant experience in Underwriting, Group Insurance, or related disciplines
  • Certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP) or Agile (e.g., CSM) is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Advanced Requirements Leadership: - Lead requirements elicitation for complex sales enablement, underwriting, and quoting processes, leveraging deep product knowledge and stakeholder insight. - Facilitate workshops and cross-functional sessions to extract, clarify, and document business needs. - Synthesize input from diverse stakeholders into actionable requirements, user stories, and process maps. - Own documentation quality and traceability, driving consensus and managing change control.
  • Process Optimization & Solution Design: - Analyze and redesign end-to-end workflows to improve efficiency, accuracy, and customer experience. - Identify opportunities for innovation and automation, incorporating customer insights and regulatory requirements. - Champion best practices in process mapping, integration, and continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Facilitation: - Serve as a primary facilitator for complex discussions, ensuring all voices are heard and solutions align with business objectives. - Build trusted relationships with Product Owners, Underwriting, Sales, and Technology partners. - Present recommendations and solution designs to leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Agile Team Leadership: - Mentor and guide junior analysts, providing feedback and fostering professional growth. - Lead Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) and ensure effective communication of requirements and priorities. - Partner with Product Owners to manage backlogs, prioritize features, and track progress.
  • Solution Validation & Implementation: - Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT), developing test scenarios and ensuring solutions meet business and regulatory needs. - Support deployment and adoption of new features, providing training and documentation for end-users.
  • Project & Change Management: - Coordinate project activities, timelines, and deliverables across multiple initiatives. - Anticipate and address risks, issues, and dependencies, ensuring successful delivery of business outcomes.
