About The Position

The Senior Bookkeeper is responsible for financial accuracy, margin protection, and operational predictability across all TN HomeBuyers entities. This role ensures leadership has clean, timely, decision-ready financial data to drive growth, manage risk, and protect profitability. This is an execution-focused finance leadership role. You will enforce cash controls, monitor performance metrics, and identify financial risks before they impact the business. The right candidate operates with urgency, precision, and accountability. They will also understand that clean books are the foundation of smart growth. This seat is ideal for a high-capacity Senior Bookkeeper or Accountant who wants to grow into greater responsibility while maintaining hands-on control of the financial engine.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, with direct responsibility over multi-entity financial operations
  • Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks, payroll systems (BambooHR or similar), and financial reporting across multiple business entities
  • Demonstrates ability to run disciplined month-end close processes without delays or clean-up cycles
  • Ability to translate transactional data into clear, executive-level financial insight and recommendations
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to clean books and predictable reporting timelines

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in real estate investment, construction, property management, or closely related industries preferred

Responsibilities

  • Own all QuickBooks entries, banking activity, reconciliations, and month-end close processes across multiple entities
  • Maintain disciplined month-end close timelines including payroll liability tie-outs, G/L reviews, P&L clean-up, reconciliations, and locking books
  • Process payroll across multiple companies, including commissions, bonuses, 401k/HSA contributions, and year-end reporting
  • Manage all outgoing wires, ACHs, EM deposits, acquisition closing wires, construction loan draws, private financing payments, and estimated tax payments
  • Manage departmental KPIs, scorecards, project metrics, inventory dashboards, and construction limits reporting
  • Approve all invoices, reimbursements, deductions, insurance invoices, and vendor payments
  • Lead annual compliance requirements including 1099s, 1095-Bs, SOS filings, insurance audits, economic surveys, and 401k audits
  • Maintain accurate fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and equipment lists
  • Serve as the financial gatekeeper for leadership by proactively identifying discrepancies, communicating risks, and ensuring financial clarity
