This specific role is for a Senior Billing Representative at Saint Thomas Medical Partners Surgical Clinic in Murfreesboro, TN, specializing in Outpatient Surgery, on a full-time day schedule.

Requirements

  • High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

  • 1+ years medical office experience
  • Experience with helping patients navigate insurance questions

Responsibilities

  • Proactively confirm coverage and secure necessary pre-authorizations for scheduled procedures, ensuring there are no hurdles to patient care.
  • Calculate financial responsibilities and have transparent, compassionate conversations with patients and providers regarding insurance limitations or unauthorized services.
  • Act as a liaison, keeping both patients and practitioners informed on the status of referrals and authorizations to prevent any surprises on the day of service.
  • Maintain meticulous records of all billing activities and claims, ensuring daily reconciliation process is accurate and every patient account tells a clear story.
