  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (equivalent work experience will be considered).
  • Experience: Approximately 7+ years of hands-on experience in cloud administration, with a proven track record as an Azure Cloud Administrator (or similar role) managing enterprise cloud environments. Experience should include administration of Azure services and Microsoft 365 at scale.

  • Problem-Solving & Communication: Excellent troubleshooting abilities with a resourceful, proactive approach to problem solving. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with global IT teams and to document procedures or explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications: Relevant Microsoft certifications are a strong plus – for example, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) or Azure Solutions Architect Expert (demonstrating deep Azure expertise). Similarly, Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert is desirable for the M365 aspects of the role.
  • Cost & Performance Optimization: Demonstrated experience in optimizing cloud costs and performing capacity planning/performance tuning in an Azure environment. Familiarity with Azure Cost Management tools and best practices for cost governance is beneficial.

  • Security & Compliance Knowledge: Strong awareness of cloud security frameworks and compliance standards. Experience implementing policies for data protection and compliance (e.g. knowledge of GDPR, HIPAA, or similar regulatory standards) in cloud services is preferred.
  • Additional Skills: Background with monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Microsoft 365 Admin Center analytics) and ITIL processes for incident/change management is also beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Azure Access Management: Design and administer Azure Active Directory and role-based access control (RBAC) models, utilizing multi-factor authentication and appropriate user/group permissions to enforce proper access controls.
  • Microsoft 365 Administration: Oversee core Microsoft 365 services – including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Power BI platform (infrastructure and user permissions) and Copilot. Managing user accounts, groups, and policies to ensure secure and efficient collaboration across the organization.
  • System Monitoring & Reliability: Continuously monitor the health and performance of Azure and M365 tenants, using tools and analytics to catch bottlenecks or issues. Adjust configurations or scale resources as needed to maintain high availability and optimal system performance.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement and maintain cloud security measures and compliance standards. This includes configuring security policies, access controls, backups, and disaster recovery plans in line with industry regulations (e.g. GDPR) to safeguard data and ensure compliance.
  • Cost Optimization & License Management: Track cloud resource usage and costs across Azure subscriptions and M365 licenses. Optimize resource allocation and license provisioning to minimize waste and implement cost-saving strategies.
  • Support & Troubleshooting: Provide tier-2/3 support for cloud-related issues and outages. Troubleshoot Azure and M365 problems and collaborate with vendors or cross-functional IT teams to rapidly resolve incidents and ensure minimal downtime. Documentation of changes and training of junior staff or end-users on cloud tools may be required as well.
  • Oversee the administration of the Power BI service for the organization. Manage Power BI tenant settings, workspaces, user access permissions, and data gateways. Ensure that appropriate security policies are applied to BI data and that workspace roles/permissions are handled correctly so that users have access only to authorized datasets and reports.
