About The Position

This versatile, hands-on technician role will provide experiences across various advanced manufacturing and repair technologies within GE Vernova including automation and robotics. Work alongside global development teams to develop, industrialize and maintain new technologies for both new make and repair applications. This role emphasizes continuous improvement, quality assurance, and global collaboration.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 8 years of relevant manufacturing or material planning experience.
  • Capable standing/sitting/walking 8-10 hours per day in a manufacturing environment and comfortably lifting ~30-pound tools, fixtures, & components.
  • US Citizen or Green Card holder permitted to work on US export-controlled technology
  • Travel to local vendor sites, OEMs as needed on a daily/weekly basis (10%)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience performing hands on process development/troubleshooting with any of the following – robotics/automation, additive technologies, fixture development, machining including mills and EDMs, laser applications like cladding and ablation, joining/brazing, metallic and ceramic coating and inspection technologies.
  • Experience developing automated solutions using, sensors, servo systems, vision (ie. open-cv), and motion control systems.
  • Any programming/coding experience with industrial robot brands (FANUC, ABB, KUKA, MOTOMAN, etc.) PLC controls, m-code, g-code, .cli would be a plus.
  • Familiarity with using data analytics including, python, p-code and other computer and classical machine learning programming.
  • Strong focus on safety, quality, execution, and process rigor.
  • Ability to rapidly shift priorities based on business needs.
  • Open-minded, self-motivated, and empowered to challenge thinking to dream big and take smart risks.
  • Demonstrated capability in collaborating within a team and customers to create an inclusive environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, communicating with transparency to deliver project milestones.

  • Familiar with AI and possess a continuous improvement (Lean) mindset.
  • Experience performing hands on process development/troubleshooting with any of the following – robotics/automation, additive technologies, fixture development, machining including mills and EDMs, laser applications like cladding and ablation, joining/brazing, metallic and ceramic coating and inspection technologies.
  • Experience in NX or other 3D CAD models and/or design simulation packages with the ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development, qualification and deployment of advanced manufacturing and repair technology solutions.
  • Experiment and develop automation, robotics, inspection and other advanced technologies.
  • Support development of industrial automation and robot applications and provide technical support for robotic systems.
  • Basic welding, machining, assembly and troubleshooting of automation and robotic solutions.
  • Support engineers and other technicians in identifying opportunities for reverse engineering projects and analyze and resolve
  • Work with third party OEMs in the integration of automation solutions including training of GE employees.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations to address quality and process issues.
  • Engage in Kaizen initiatives to enhance efficiency and assist in maintaining and updating our engineering processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Supply Chain, and Advanced Manufacturing and Repair Technology.
