About The Position

As a Senior Automation Technical Training Instructor, a typical day might include the following: Provide, create, teach, follow, and maintain technical training related to design, development, and implementation of automation systems for power system protection, control, and monitoring based on pre-established and newly developed automation standards, processes, and procedures or best practices in both a simulated and real-world environment. Contribute as a technical expert in automation solutions related to communication network equipment, configuration of real-time controllers to serve as RTUs, Human Machine Interface (HMI) or server to an upstream SCADA client and in-depth knowledge of various industry standard communication protocols (IEC-61850, DNP, Modbus, etc.). Contribute as a technical expert in automation solutions in configuration of real-time controllers to perform custom logic such as fault location, isolation and restoration schemes (FLISR) and substation control schemes. Develop new technical processes and procedures with emphasis on automation systems for the power system and new technologies. Responsible for overseeing, mentoring, and teaching safe work practices with focus on risk aversion and implementing/teaching human performance improvement and error reduction tools. Additional Job Description We anticipate filling this position as a Senior Engineer $160,000 - $190,000. We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the salary range may differ if filled at a different level. Our salary ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location.
