Requirements

  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Minimum of 12 years of related experience.
  • Passed the appropriate state bar exam and hold a valid license to practice law.
  • Expert knowledge of products and services marketed by the Company.
  • Ability to negotiate needed contract terms and conditions while minimizing risks to the Company.
  • Ability to provide sound legal advice and consultation to staff and management under close direction, contributing to strategic decision-making on legal matters.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to work effectively with all levels of staff, management and customers as required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead lawyer for the Fuels Business Unit, with responsibility for negotiating and drafting contracts in accordance with company guidelines and policies.
  • Provides legal counsel on terms and conditions for proposals, sales contracts and government contracts.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Leads the Ethics and Compliance function for the Company, and coordinates with Group Ethics and Compliance Officer and General Counsel on ethics and compliance issues within the organization.
  • Advises management regarding policy and procedure revisions based on changes in laws and regulations.
  • Communicates legal issues and risks to executive management and provides legal and strategic advice on resolution of commercial disputes.
  • Provides routine and ad hoc reporting on significant legal, ethics and compliance issues and procedures.
  • Coordinates with other Framatome companies to ensure consistent terms and conditions for joint bids/agreements.
  • Ensures staff is adequately trained to effectively support corporate and business lines.

Benefits

  • Salary: $150,000-$212,000 and may also include annual incentives and performance bonuses. The base salary range is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
