About The Position

FLH is looking for a candidate to help advance its U.S. land and housing portfolio, which currently focuses on housing loss and insecurity, eviction data, access to affordable homeownership, and the intersections between housing and climate change. The ideal candidate is passionate about implementation of large scale change efforts, particularly for housing stability, with experience in project management and coordinating learning networks. Familiarity with court eviction data, eviction processes and housing stability are a plus. The candidate should be a self-starter and a good multi-tasker, and capable of working in a fast paced environment on a small, agile team, acting as the right hand to the Eviction Data Response Network Initiative Director. The candidate should also thrive on collaboration, as partnerships and multi-stakeholder approaches are essential to our work. This role will begin with an emphasis on project and knowledge management management and will progress towards deeper technical assistance and thought leadership as the candidate acquires domain knowledge and experience.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher;
  • Minimum 3-5 years relevant experience, preferably in a U.S. housing, urban planning, public policy, public health, judicial operations, legal aid, or a related field;
  • Excellent and proven project management skills. In particular, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, strong organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail, including familiarity with project management software and frameworks;
  • Excellent presentation, writing, and communication skills.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and enthusiasm for finding creative and unique approaches and opportunities;
  • Competence with data frameworks, evaluation, and organizing structured networks
  • Demonstrated interest in or dedication to fostering equitable outcomes across society, and especially for lower-income communities, communities of color, and other historically marginalized constituencies;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of collaborative teams, including both internal and external partners;
  • Curiosity, eagerness, and ability to develop new knowledge and skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.

  • Familiarity with court eviction data, eviction processes and housing stability are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Act as lead project manager for EDRN, coordinate a national learning network of up to 10 statewide eviction prevention teams. Duties will include structuring and executing quarterly virtual and annual in-person partner convenings; coordinating and assisting in the provision of 1-1 coaching to state partners; and helping to develop knowledge and policy products based on EDRN experiences. .
  • Author initial drafts on a small but high-impact team that helps partners build robust data infrastructure and effective problem solving systems
  • Interface with contracted technologists to support tech-enabled solutions for EDRN cohort partners and partner with colleagues on technology solutions for collecting and analyzing court eviction data
  • Support grantmaking processes such as executing grantee agreements, processing payments and gathering required reporting
  • Monitor evaluation and learning, ensuring the initiative generates evidence of impact and insights that can scale nationwide.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of FLH’s domestic housing work, ranging from policy and communication projects to mixed-methods research;
  • Oversee external communications and events for FLH, including for a monthly newsletter, web page, social media, webinars, and in-person events, and other engagements;
  • Communicate our work with teams internal and external to New America, including housing policymakers, advocates, academics, funders, and technologists;
  • Additional responsibilities and duties may be dictated by events and circumstances.
