Institutional transfers (moving money from one bank to another) are the lifeblood of our growth. As clients bring their assets to Wealthsimple, our goal is to make that transition as seamless and magical as possible. However, navigating the complexities of the traditional banking network presents unique opportunities to innovate, optimize, and scale. As a Senior Associate on the Transfer Operations team, you will act as the prime process architect to perfect this journey. Functioning as the strategic bridge between Operations and Product & Engineering (R&D), you will take the baton from our BizOps team to dive into complex data sets, map out the transfer lifecycle, and build automated solutions that maximize our straight-through processing (STP). Your ultimate goal is to iron out complex edge cases, remove client toil from the process, and eliminate all controllable transfer impediments.

Requirements

  • Analytical & Operational DNA: 3+ years of experience in heavily analytical, cross-functional roles (e.g., Data Analyst, Business Analyst, BizOps, Product Operations, or Revenue/Sales Ops) where you were responsible for process design and data-driven problem solving.
  • Metric Ownership: A proven track record of owning a macro-metric (e.g., processing SLAs, conversion rates, or operational efficiency) and successfully moving it by breaking a massive problem into manageable, actionable sub-components.
  • SQL & Data Literacy: Strong ability to write SQL to self-serve, extract, and segment data. You are comfortable navigating databases and building data visualizations to find your own answers.
  • AI Fluency: You are a power user of AI tools. You naturally turn to LLMs to help structure data, recognize patterns, and speed up problem-solving.
  • Stakeholder Management: Demonstrated experience working closely with Engineering and Product teams. You know how to build business cases that secure technical buy-in.

Responsibilities

  • Be a Data Detective: Perform structured analysis to continuously optimize transfer speeds and completion rates. You won't just look at high-level dashboards; you’ll dig into the weeds of individual workflows to uncover and eliminate the hidden "micro-frictions" behind the data.
  • Map & Redesign Processes: Analyze "current-state" workflows, identify process bottlenecks, and design streamlined "future-state" processes. You will translate operational opportunities into clear, prioritized technical requirements and user stories for our Engineering teams.
  • Leverage AI for Impact: Utilize LLMs (like Claude) as a daily companion to analyze massive datasets, spot optimization patterns, and accelerate your investigative workflows.
  • Visualize & Track Success: Build and maintain reporting and dashboards to track the health of transfer pipelines. You will monitor post-launch performance (including A/B tests) to ensure the needle actually moved.
  • Automate to Scale: Proactively identify opportunities to replace manual touchpoints with high-leverage automations (using tools like Workato). You will redesign workflows from the ground up to improve quality and meaningfully expand our team's capacity.
