About The Position

Senior Associate Teacher Early Elementary Division Position Overview: Senior Associate Teachers at Trinity School are inquisitive, nurturing, fun-loving, flexible, and creative. They model lifelong learning for their colleagues and students. They involve themselves in areas of the school beyond their classroom walls. The Senior Associate Teacher is responsible for assisting the Lead Teacher in fulfilling all his/her responsibilities in accordance with the mission and philosophy of the School. In addition, the Senior Associate Teacher partners with the Lead Teacher to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students in their class.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood, Elementary Education, or a specific subject area

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Heggerty Phonemic Awareness, Orton-Gillingham, and NCTM’s Standards of Mathematical Practice (preferred)
  • Georgia State Teaching Certificate/License or equivalent from another state (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Plans and implements small group and whole group instruction as a part of the daily program in collaboration with Lead Teachers and peer Associate Teachers
  • Plans and facilitates one-on-one, small group, and differentiated instruction sessions
  • Actively contributes to progress report documentation and writing by sharing documented strengths and needed areas of growth
  • Plans and models small group and individual instruction in collaboration with the Learning Team to provide push-in support for students with differentiated learning needs
  • Models appropriate behavior for students
  • Understands and supports developmental benchmarks academically, socially, emotionally, and behaviorally
  • Uses technology to enhance instruction and communicate effectively
  • Understands responsible digital citizenship
  • Collaborates with colleagues and staff to support the school community
  • Communicates proficiently in oral and written forms
  • Participates in associated duties such as carpool, lunch, and recess
  • Takes initiative to fulfill typical teacher responsibilities and demonstrates a willingness to problem-solve a-typical situations
  • Other duties as assigned
