About The Position

As a Process Manager (Senior Associate) at Capital One, you will be instrumental in ensuring the flawless operation, governance, and continuous enhancement of our credit bureau reporting and dispute processes. We are seeking a detailed expert who thrives on optimizing complex systems and possesses the learning agility to dive deep into technical workflows and data. You will be a key contributor in shaping our operating model, constantly challenging the status quo and identifying opportunities to merge processes to eliminate duplication or drive automation. This role requires the ability to surface risks before they happen, conduct rigorous root cause analysis, and design effective controls to ensure we remain well-managed in a highly dynamic environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
  • At least 1 year of experience working with technical teams (e.g., software engineering, data science, infrastructure)
  • At least 2 years of experience in Business Process Management, Project Management, Relationship Management or Risk Management

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification
  • Certification in relevant technical areas or platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • 1+ years of experience working with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) in a technical development environment.
  • 1+ years of experience with executing scripts in SQL and/or other scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for data analysis or process automation.
  • 1+ years of experience with technical documentation tools (e.g., Confluence, Jira) and diagramming tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart) for complex technical workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Process Excellence & Governance: Act as a process expert, staying on top of requirements in a changing environment while providing proactive visibility to deadlines and managing well-designed controls.
  • Strategic Communication: Tailor complex communications and create structured slides that drive change management for senior leaders with minimal manager support.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build buy-in across immediate and upstream/downstream groups; push and pull on product and feature designs with Tech, Data, Legal, and Compliance to drive the right outcomes.
  • Data & Technical Leverage: Lean into data to build or influence the creation of tools that reduce errors, enhance controls, and deepen process understanding.
  • Problem Solving & Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify opportunities to improve agent experiences, resolve identified risks on behalf of the customer, and synthesize information to solve complex issues.
