About The Position

Capital One is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated Senior Associate to join the Business Continuity Risk Management (BCRM) team within the Operational Risk Management second line of defense. BCRM is responsible for independent governance and oversight of Capital One's business continuity and operational resilience practices enabling Capital One to respond to and recover from business disruptions. The ideal candidate is experienced at coordinating processes and associates, and can effectively communicate to stakeholders and leaders while comfortably navigating through ambiguity and exercising exceptional critical thinking skills. This candidate will be responsible for supporting the Operational Resilience workstream, executing end-to-end mapping of Capital One's Essential Business Services and underlying dependencies. Requirements

• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills; ability to "connect the dots"
• Ability to distill complexity and drive alignment across stakeholders from multiple lines of business and defense
• Proven ability to work independently; flexible to change in a fast paced environment that requires the balancing of competing priorities
• Ability to own deliverables and timelines by working iteratively, adapting to shifting priorities
• Proficient with business process mapping, process documentation, and process optimization
• Excellent communicator and influencer across various levels of stakeholders
• Understanding of IT environments; experience with linkage between Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery is a plus
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
• At least 2 years of experience in a process management role
• At least 2 years of experience in a financial or highly-regulated industry (healthcare, energy, telecommunications)
• At least 2 years of experience working in cross-functional teams

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's Degree
• PMP (Project Management Professional) certification, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification
• 1+ year of experience in Business Continuity, Third Party Risk Management, Operational Resilience, or a similar discipline

Responsibilities

• Document relationships between multiple processes using tools such as swim lane process maps
• Design and implement approach to mapping end-to-end customer-facing services, including the underlying processes, systems, third parties, and locations
• Facilitating and executing cross-functional process map design in collaboration with technology and business teams
• Support the design of severe but plausible scenario-based tests to demonstrate the ability of services to withstand disruption
• Assist in organizing workshops and planning sessions to maintain awareness and currency of operational resilience service documentation and governance
• Designing and implementing sustainable processes to keep service maps up-to-date at regular intervals and following business changes
