Senior Associate, New Verticals - Product Operations

DoorDash USAWashington, DC
1d$87,000 - $128,000Hybrid

About The Position

We are expanding our Central Strategy & Operations team with a handful of Senior Associates to drive network-wide inbound and outbound productivity performance and efficiency through building operating principles and tools. You will be accountable for identifying and scaling system and operational improvements that enhance inbound throughput, accuracy, and cost efficiency. You will serve as a key contributor in owning productivity metrics like receiving, throughout, accuracy, cost and efficiency. You will dig deep into data, identify root causes of performance variance, and build systematic tools / product enhancements that improve how our warehouse associates operate on a daily basis. You will partner closely with local operators, product managers, engineers, designers, and data scientists to conceptualize, iterate, launch, and maintain scalable solutions. We’re looking for someone who thrives in fast-paced, operational environments and brings a strong ownership mentality. You should be comfortable diving deep into data using SQL, leveraging AI tooling to enhance analysis and decision-making, understanding how logistics systems drive frontline behavior, and translating insights into concrete system and process improvements. This is a highly visible individual contributor role with outsized impact on operational efficiency and cost performance. You will report to a Manager within our Central Strategy & Operations team. This is a non-technical role and sits under our Strategy & Operations job family. We operate in a hybrid model - you will spend some time in your home office, in person via offsites and testing products in the field - across DashMarts and third-party stores. This role requires roughly 25% travel, locally and nationally. You must be willing to start employment at DoorDash no later than June 15th, 2026.

Requirements

  • You solve problems from first principles. You’re excited to solve operational planning problems in innovative ways, and you resist “this is how it’s always been done” thinking.
  • You’re equally comfortable operating at 10,000 feet and 1 foot. You don’t hesitate to get in the weeds with SQL or spend a day picking and packing orders, but you’re just as comfortable contributing to broader strategic conversations.
  • You’re unafraid of ambiguity. Rapid change and learning is exciting to you, and you thrive in ambiguous, startup environments.
  • You’re analytical. You have a strong analytical background, SQL proficiency, and familiarity with AI tooling and how it can be applied to operational decision-making.
  • You are a team player. You bring exposure to Product Ops (including conceptualization, iteration, and maintenance) and have experience working cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Design teams.
  • You have 2-4+ years of professional experience. Ideally you have experience in operations, analytics, product operations, logistics, consulting, or business operations.
  • You have completed your BS/BA Degree.

Responsibilities

  • Operate. You will understand the operating processes & systems that power our network inside and out.
  • Experiment. You will identify inbound performance gaps, develop hypotheses, and test product features in partnership with Product, Engineering, and Data Science — including leveraging AI-enabled tooling where applicable.
  • Scale. You’ll transform analytical insights into operational experiments that create measurable and scalable improvements in inbound throughput and efficiency.
  • Build. You’ll do whatever it takes to launch and maintain system improvements — from detailed SQL analysis to drafting product requirements and supporting implementation.
  • Analyze. You’ll assess the operational and financial impacts of your decisions and iterate based on data.
  • Collaborate. You’ll work with a cross-functional team, including local operations, engineering, product, and data science, to drive alignment and execution.
