About The Position

As a Life Competitive Solutions Analyst, your primary focus will be delivering timely, accurate, and expert-level case support for New York Life Agents, field managers, and third-party distribution field directors. You will analyze how competitor products are designed relative to NYL products, assess complex case dynamics, and equip the field with clear and actionable positioning strategies. This role is critical in helping agents navigate competitive sales situations while strengthening New York Life's market presence.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of individual life insurance products and competitive product features.
  • Ability to analyze complex information and translate it into clear, actionable recommendations for field partners.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for agent and management audiences.
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort working in fast-turnaround environments.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and deliver high-quality work under time pressure.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in life insurance competitive intelligence, product management, or field-facing product support.
  • FINRA Series 6 (or willingness to obtain).
  • Familiarity with NYL's distribution model and sales processes within both Agency and Third-Party.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized competitive case analysis for agents, field leaders, and third-party distribution including product comparisons, scenario modeling, and positioning recommendations.
  • Respond to inbound inquiries via phone, email, and virtual meetings, delivering strong subject-matter expertise on life insurance product features and competitive dynamics.
  • Develop clear, concise supporting materials such as case summaries, product comparisons, and agent-ready talking points.
  • Collaborate with partners in Life Insurance Solutions Product Development, Product Management, and Competitive Intelligence to ensure alignment on insights and messaging.
  • Monitor competitor actions, regulatory changes, and industry trends to support ongoing case work and field communications.
