About The Position

Vista Equity Partners is seeking a Senior Associate to join the General Partner (GP) Finance team with a strong focus on systems, automation, and process transformation. This role extends beyond traditional accounting. The ideal candidate will help reimagine how GP Finance operates, leveraging technology, automation, and modern tools (including AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Copilot) to improve efficiency, scalability, and accuracy across workflows. The position requires a combination of financial acumen, technical curiosity, and project execution capability, with the ability to challenge existing processes and implement forward-looking solutions. This individual will play a key role in driving systems implementations, optimizing data flows, and enhancing reporting infrastructure. This is a highly cross-functional role with exposure to finance, operations, and technology stakeholders across the firm. This role is based in our SF, NYC, Chicago or Austin offices and for an immediate start.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA and/or Master’s Degree preferred
  • 3+ years of accounting experience with investment partnerships, and/or public accounting with either audit or tax experience
  • Advanced MS Office, Power Bi, Power Automate, Claude, Copilot, ChatGPT, Sage Intacct, Allvue - preferred
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills; ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects with high attention to detail
  • Creative problem solving demonstrating critical thinking
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels internally and externally.
  • Capable of handling highly confidential and sensitive information

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review capital call and distribution calculations, notices, and related cash activity
  • Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial reporting, including financial statements, partner capital statements, and supporting workpapers
  • Support fund administrative activities, including cash management, expense review, and loan program maintenance
  • Participate in the implementation and optimization of financial and accounting systems, including allocation and reporting platforms
  • Develop process automations to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability across GP Finance workflows
  • Leverage tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Microsoft Copilot to improve workflows, documentation, and analysis
  • Assist with cross-functional projects, partnering across finance and technology teams to deliver process and systems improvements
