The Senior Associate Director of Alumni Engagement will develop and implement a strategy to grow engagement for Midwest based Chicago Booth alumni with a primary focus on the Chicagoland area. This position will inspire alumni to give back to the school and community in meaningful ways including event attendance, volunteerism, philanthropy, and other connection opportunities. More specifically, this position will identify opportunities to expand the breadth and depth of alumni engagement to increase pipeline development including soliciting philanthropic support, alumni and student career connections, and affinity or industry connections. The Senior Associate Director will engage key partners across Chicago Booth and the University of Chicago. Major areas of focus include alumni communities, philanthropy, affinity and industry programming, events, communication, reporting and analytics. This position is based in Chicago and will require 10% travel.

Requirements

  • Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
  • Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 7+ years of work experience in a related job discipline.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements a strategic vision for alumni engagement in the Midwest region, with a focus on Chicagoland, aligning with broader Chicago Booth and University goals.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with alumni, identifying interests and cultivating engagement.
  • Manages a portfolio of alumni volunteers, leveraging their expertise and passion and encouraging philanthropic support in addition to other types of engagement.
  • Evaluates and prioritizes alumni with the capacity and affinity to make philanthropic gifts, ensuring a robust and well-vetted pipeline.
  • Utilizes technology and social media platforms to enhance alumni communities, foster connections, and increase engagement.
  • Organizes and executes high-quality events and programs that cater to alumni interests and drive engagement.
  • Collaborates with internal and external partners, including Booth Admissions, Career Services, Student Services, the University Alumni Association, research centers, and other departments, to ensure alignment and maximize impact.
  • Maintains accurate records of alumni interactions and engagement metrics.
  • Utilizes data to inform decision-making and track progress toward goals.
  • Assists in managing the US alumni engagement budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
  • Performs various administrative tasks, including supporting event planning, coordinating communications, and contributing to other projects as needed.
  • Leads and coordinates the planning, organization, and management of events, programs, and services designed to cultivate and maintain ties between the University of Chicago and key constituent groups.
  • Creates a marketing plan to maximize participation and engagement of alumni, parents, and friends.
  • Leads strategic planning, data management, the creation and tracking of metrics, and the creation and implementation of new constituent relations programs worldwide.
  • Measures, tracks, and reports participation and success of initiatives.
  • Performs other related work as needed.
