The Credit Analytics team isn't your typical lending department. We are the owners of Wealthsimple’s retail lending ecosystem, operating at the intersection of high-growth tech and data driven underwriting. We believe that being "credit-worthy" should mean more than just a traditional score. We are currently in a high-growth "green-field" phase, moving from small data to massive scale through iteration and experimentation. We are looking for two Senior Associates, who are strategic thinkers, to own the risk-return landscape for our flagship lending products. You won’t just be a cog in a machine; you will be the primary driver of how these products grow and perform. Senior Associate, Credit Card Growth In this role, you will take the lead on our expanding credit card suite, acting as the primary owner for our growth engine. You will collaborate across teams to design and deliver end-to-end strategies for card approvals, initial limits, pricing, and authorizations. You will collaborate cross-functionally to design and deliver end-to-end strategies across many domains such as card approvals, initial limits, credit limit increase/decrease, pricing, authorizations. By balancing customer acquisition with smart risk management, you will directly influence the trajectory of our credit card portfolio and help define what a modern credit experience looks like for a growing number of customer segments. Senior Associate, Overdraft As the lead for our Overdraft product, you will own the entire lifecycle of risk-managed adjudication and limit strategies. Your work focuses on designing sophisticated lending boundaries that delight customers while ensuring product viability through rigorous lifecycle monitoring. By working closely with our collections and fraud teams, you will ensure our most liquid lending products are performing at peak efficiency while maintaining a deep commitment to responsible, inclusive lending.

Requirements

  • Has strong data skills: dashboards, reporting, visualization, data manipulation.
  • Experience using SQL to conduct quantitative analysis, and synthesizing results into actionable proposals.
  • Can develop and communicate stories to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Is able to internalize and weigh information to come to balanced decisions.
  • Is intellectually curious, passionate about their work, and wants to have ownership over their projects
  • Has 5+ years experience in retail lending across multiple domains such as credit risk, credit modeling, credit lifecycle management, collections, credit policy implementation, profitability analysis.
  • Is experienced with statistical/quantitative analysis: experimental design, champion/challenger (or A/B) testing, model accuracy validation, constrained optimization, decision trees, discounted cash flows, financial modeling.
  • Has technical experience in: SQL, Python, GitHub.

Responsibilities

  • Build the strategies to manage risk and optimize performance across Wealthsimple’s credit products, and other retail lending domains.
  • Evaluate the performance of lending portfolios, and the performance of your campaigns, lending strategies and experiments.
  • Propose strategy enhancements to improve marginal profitability and mitigate emerging risks.
  • Design and test of retail lending campaigns that drive revenue by changing approvals, line management, pricing, credit limits, recovery rates.
  • Collaborate across many teams to influence road maps, and implement your strategies that drive immediate impact.
