Senior Associates in our Commercial practice support tax compliance, planning, and consulting for a diverse client base, ranging from owner-operators and closely held businesses to multinational corporations and early-stage start-ups.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of relevant tax experience
  • Bachelor’s and/or relevant advanced degree (MAcc, MST, JD)
  • Advanced credential or desire to obtain advanced credential allowing for IRS client representation (i.e. CPA, JD)
  • Tax software proficiency (e.g. GoSystem Tax RS, CCH, etc.)
  • Self-starter with the initiative to seek out opportunities and ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Proficient use of technology (e.g. Excel, tax research tools, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Review and prepare business entity tax returns for C-corporations, S-corporations, Partnerships with strong knowledge of federal tax compliance and familiarity with state compliance requirements to identify potential issues and considerations
  • Prepare and review ASC 740 tax provisions
  • Collaborate with engagement team to identify and research complex client issues and recommend solutions
  • Draft technical tax memoranda
  • Draft IRS responses and addressing other tax authority inquiries, as needed
  • Provide regular updates to clients and keep internal team updated on status of projects and deadlines
  • Assist in project management of compliance and consulting engagements
  • Supervise, train and mentor Associates and Interns
  • Stay current with tax legislative and reporting changes from various internal and external resources, including formal COM training in corporate business taxation, on-the job training, direct feedback from engagement team leaders, firmwide newsletters, webcasts and technical alerts, etc.
