About The Position

The Position: Senior Assistant Tenure-Track Librarian for Health Sciences and Community Services. Position Starts: Summer 2026 College: Meriam Library Department/School: Meriam Library Salary: Salary commensurate with education and experience. Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Library/Information Science from an ALA-accredited institution. Candidates nearing completion of the terminal degree may be considered; however, all requirements for conferral of the degree must be met no later than the start date of the position.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of disciplinary terminology and familiarity with the latest methods used in health sciences or community services related research and scholarly publishing.
  • Experience in teaching or providing health sciences or community services research assistance in a library, medical, or other related environment. Teaching experience accrued as a graduate student will be considered.
  • Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the liaison to health sciences and community services programs, including the School of Nursing, Public Health & Health Services Administration, Child Development, and the School of Social Work.
  • Provide instruction, faculty consultation, and student research assistance to liaison departments and programs.
  • Meet research, publication, and service requirements to attain tenure.
  • Work with other librarians to develop and implement information literacy instruction across disciplines.
  • Develop shared instructional materials in a variety of formats.
  • Pursue outreach efforts to engage the students and academic community.
  • Engage in collection development activities in assigned subject areas.
  • Participate in shared reference, consultation, and related activities.
