About The Position

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Senior Architectural Designer to join our Los Angeles Architecture studio. This is a pivotal role to work on one of the most exciting, large and complex local projects: Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games and Team USA! LA28 & AECOM: Transforming Los Angeles We are proud to be the Official Venue Infrastructure Partner for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games and Team USA. With an unprecedented scope spanning infrastructure architecture, engineering, planning, program management, and construction management, AECOM will support the comprehensive delivery of the venue infrastructure program for the Games. Join us in shaping LA28 and redefining the future of the Olympic and Paralympic Game, Beyond this project, we’ve been trusted to move the city’s infrastructure forward across the energy transition, water security, mobility, sports, education, public safety, climate adaptation and carbon reduction. The successful candidate will understand the value of leveraging the design platform that AECOM offers, which is access and collaboration with industry leading designers and technical experts in nearly every design and engineering field. The current and near-term projects that this position would support will be transformational to the communities in which they exist. Internally, this position will provide the opportunity to serve as an integral part of a planning and design practice that includes planners, landscape architects, architects, interior designers, engineers, and business development professionals. The position will require the ability to support design visions, concepts, and overall design process for complex multi-layered design problems and solutions. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Architecture degree plus 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Autodesk Revit proficiency

Nice To Haves

  • 8+ years of experience as an Architect or Architectural Designer on a variety of building types, including sports facilities
  • Licensed architect
  • Experience working with Construction professionals in a collaborative environment
  • DBIA Certification
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Enscape, Rhino and SketchUp
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Master's degree in Architecture

Responsibilities

  • Works independently on architectural design projects and coordinates project design efforts including:
  • Performing architectural design calculations
  • Preparing drawings, specifications, reports and related data tables.
  • Managing and coordinating design and engineering/specialty disciplines
  • Preparing, reviewing, and coordinating drawings as required.
  • Supervising design teams
  • Provides support throughout the project life
  • Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, may independently perform advanced technical assignments of various complexities within approved schedules and budgets.
  • Coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project.
  • Assist in the training and evaluation of assigned architectural and design personnel.
