Key responsibilities will include leading, working with, and coordinating, an architectural/engineering team in designing for a variety of project typologies with focus on transportation and civic projects. The ideal candidate will design, develop and coordinate the initial design and continue with the detailed phases of project development requiring interface and collaboration with various disciplines, clients, and consultants. The role specific tasks may include; preparation of architectural plans and other design and presentation materials, and/or supervises their execution. Performs analysis of design and construction systems, planning studies, design layouts, and construction details. Oversees research used in writing specifications, including coordinating with manufacturers. Conducts site and construction inspections for information gathering purposes, preparing interpretive reports. Executes code analysis, material selections, and technical solutions. Analyzes design and construction systems, design layouts, and construction features, which require researching, compiling, and recording information for assigned project work. Coordinates with other disciplines. Plan, schedule, coordinate, manage, and oversee the work by leading internal teams and representing project with clients and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Professional Degree in Architecture (B. Arch or M. Arch preferred)
  • Current California licensure required
  • A minimum of 12 years of experience as an Architectural Designer
  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite are required
  • Excellent design, technical detailing, and strong presentation skills, both verbal and visual, are essential
  • The candidate should be a self-starter with a passion for problem-solving, an understanding that project success comes through teamwork, and a firm focus on client needs

Nice To Haves

  • Transit experience a plus
  • Experience in Rhino, 3-D Max, Sketch-up is a plus
  • LEED Accreditation is also a plus

  • Contribute new designs, or techniques that are of material significance in the solution of important problems.
  • Remain current in codes and technologies appropriate to the architecture discipline including IBC, NFPA, etc.
  • Ensure conformance with standards, established architectural practices, applicable codes, and technical adequacy of design and construction.
  • Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.
