About The Position

SENIOR ARCHITECT (Over 10 years’ experience) Certification as licensed professional in architecture.  Professional degree in Architecture, plus 10 years minimum of related experience. Can be relied upon to present directly to the client on technical and design solutions. Works closely with the Project Manager to execute project plans. Coordinates with Project Manager to directly supervise the teams’ design and technical delivery. Communication and collaboration Applies sound and diverse knowledge of architecture principles and practices in a broad array of assignments. Acts independently regarding architectural methods and complexities.  Maintains frequent communication with Project Team to ensure proper information flow and assists in keeping team apprised of any changes/or client activity that would have an impact on the project. Takes leadership role in organizing meetings to ensure deliverables and deadlines are adhered to. Attends meetings with clients, project team as necessary, with a demonstrated skill in coordination with the consultant and internal team. Responsible for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments  on designated projects or project phases. May supervise a small staff of architects and technicians. Demonstrated ability to prepare meeting notes, to digitally file materials and to promote these practices in the project team Adept at self-checking work and coordinating work with JCJ project team and consultants Formulates work plans and scheduling strategies with JCJ team and adheres to established project schedules Prepares and delivers presentations to clients, both physically and virtually. Assumes leadership in presentations Demonstrated time management skills required to work on multiple projects   Project Involvement Develops planning and creative-design concepts for projects. Prepares presentation and design drawings and details. Demonstrated experience in developing details and providing planning and design support in the preparation of design documentation. Creates and develops building design drawings and compiles information to create project documentation. Provides document preparation timing/ schedules with staffing levels and articulates needs to ensure document completion, adhering to overall project schedules and deadlines as directed by the PM. Serve as Document Team Leader on selected projects. Obtains and assembles data to complete drawings, including, field verifying measurements as necessary. Coordinates structural, electrical and mechanical drawings and specifications with architectural drawings and specifications.  Meets with engineers as necessary and articulates the integration of the architecture and the engineering with the full A/E team, including specifications group.                        Provides technical knowledge through schematic, design development and construction documentation to promote the delivery of accurate, detailed and coordinated project documentation. Researches materials and incorporates accurate information into drawings and project cut book and coordinates with specifications group. Provides team with insight on possible material and design choices that may be beneficial in design or cost to overall project. Assists as necessary in specification preparation, including review of specifications at completion of each phase of project. Assists in Quality Control reviews throughout office. Understands how to use local and state building and fire codes and prepares Code Survey and Code Drawings for project.  Notifies team members of possible conflicts between design and code Understands how to navigate through local zoning and approvals processes and assists PM in all necessary work for adherence. Demonstrated experience in performing construction administration tasks including shop drawing review, RFI’s, and document modifications. Other Participates in the preparation of proposal/interview materials to secure new business opportunities. Supports new business development opportunities by providing expert technical knowledge Assume special projects and duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

  • Professional BArch or master’s in architecture
  • 10+ years’ experience in architectural practice or related position.
  • 8+ years creating design solutions.
  • Licensed Architect
  • Advanced Computer and Information Management Skills
  • Revit, AutoCAD current versions
  • MS Office Suite – Excel, Word, MS Project
  • 3D Rendering capability
