Our multidisciplinary design and assessment services cover a wide range of needs. We perform condition assessments, investigations, feasibility studies, and peer reviews. We design repairs, renovations, and alterations and oversee their execution in the field. The Role Thornton Tomasetti's Renewals Practice has an immediate opening for a Senior Engineer . This position is open to architects and engineers who are passionate about working on existing buildings. You'll be involved in building envelope investigations and design , historic building renovation , retrofit design , demolition , and property loss consulting , as well as structural repair and rehabilitation.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience in structural or architectural design, repair, renovation, and/or retrofit design.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering , Architecture, or Architectural Engineering ( Master's preferred).
  • Ability and willingness to travel within the U.S. and internationally.

Nice To Haves

  • Training or certification in Historic Preservation is a plus.
  • Experience with existing building renovation and repair is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis and design for rehabilitation of concrete, steel, timber, masonry, and other structural/architectural systems.
  • Develop design and detailing for façade and building envelope restoration.
  • Prepare technical and investigative reports.
  • Coordinate design work with internal teams and external consultants, including architects, engineers, cost consultants, and contractors.
  • Work on projects involving structural or architectural repair, renovation, demolition, and expansion of existing buildings.
