Location: Logan Health Medical Center – Kalispell, Montana (Limited Remote Flexibility) Shift: Day Shift – 8 Hours | Full–Time – 40 Hours Additional Location Details This role supports critical clinical and operational systems, requiring close collaboration with on-site teams. Limited remote flexibility is available; however, this position should be considered primarily on-site and candidates must reside in Montana or relocate prior to start. About This Role This position plays a vital part in consolidating and supporting Logan Health’s application inventory – especially ancillary systems not directly tied to core EHR platforms (e.g., Epiphany, Systoc, Sleep Therapy software, Provation, etc.). You’ll help ensure we remain current on application versions, streamline workflows, and enhance user experience today and into the future. We’re seeking a Senior Applications Specialist to lead implementation, support, and optimization of key healthcare applications across our system. What You’ll Do As a Senior Applications Specialist, you will serve as the project manager and subject matter expert for a variety of healthcare information systems. Your role bridges the gap between clinical/operational needs and system functionality – ensuring our applications run efficiently, integrate properly, and support exceptional patient care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Computer Science, Health Information Technology, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in one (1) of the following: Healthcare IT Progressive hospital or healthcare operations Equivalent relevant experience Healthcare operational, clinical, or IT role Medical Imaging IT role
  • Demonstrated project management experience with software application systems.
  • Proven leadership, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
  • Strong understanding of common software applications (e.g., MS Office) and PC systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage sensitive/confidential situations with professionalism and diplomacy.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with hospital or clinic applications, ideally Meditech.
  • Application support and implementation background.
  • Understanding of database structures/tools and reporting tools.
  • Familiarity with interface development and integrated system testing.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality customer service and end-user support, including system configuration, user access, table/dictionary builds, troubleshooting, and vendor escalation.
  • Act as a key liaison between end users, leadership, and software vendors.
  • Lead system upgrades, enhancements, and new application implementations.
  • Manage work plans, timelines, and project deliverables with strong follow-through.
  • Identify system problems and drive resolution from start to finish.
  • Support integration and interface development, testing, and go-live planning.
  • Apply deep knowledge of healthcare workflows to improve functionality and adoption.
  • Maintain documentation, change management processes, and quality standards.
  • Pursue continual learning and stay aligned with technology trends.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, confidentiality, and excellent communication.
  • Maintain consistent attendance per department guidelines.
