About The Position

We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Sr Application Programmer to join our IT Security development team. This role focuses on the architecture, development, maintenance, and configuration of our Cyber Security applications, emphasizing data modeling and Groovy to support Windstream’s Cyber Security management systems. You will collaborate closely with fellow developers, Cyber Security team members, and other IT teams to ensure our applications meet business requirements.

Requirements

  • College degree or current enrollment in business, computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with software design and development in a test-driven environment.
  • Familiarity with agile practices and management tools such as Azure Dev Ops and build/deployment YAML pipelines.
  • Proficiency in coding languages such as Java, C#, Python, Groovy, and JavaScript.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more of the following: APIs, REST, SOAP, XML, JSON, and HTML.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows and Unix operating systems.
  • Hand-on experience with one or more of the following: Neo4j, Oracle, mySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, Snowflake.
  • Understanding of GraphQL.

  • Understand compliance frameworks, especially PCI and SOX.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all cybersecurity incidents, events, and information.
  • Collaborate with external third parties as required.
  • Participate in the architecture, configuration, development, deployment, integration, testing, and maintenance of cybersecurity systems.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software.
  • Identify areas for modification in current cybersecurity systems and develop these improvements.
  • Write high-quality code to complete features on schedule.
  • Assess the operational practicality of applications.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues on supported security systems to ensure 24x7 availability.
  • Follow Software Development Lifecycle processes and tools.
  • Apply agile practices and principles to maximize business value and continuously improve customer outcomes.
  • Participate in researching and identifying new and emerging technologies to enhance Windstream’s cybersecurity processes.
