This position is a hybrid role requiring employees to work from our headquarters location in Seattle, WA every Tuesday and Wednesday, and remote all other days. As a Senior Android developer on the Conversational Search team, you will help us build Redfin’s next-generation AI-powered home search experience. This team creates intuitive, delightful, and deeply integrated conversational experiences that help users discover, evaluate, and act with greater confidence. This is one of Redfin’s most ambitious and visible product initiatives for 2026. You will join a diverse and passionate community of developers working to build engaging experiences to make it easy for users to find their next home.

Requirements

5+ years of development experience
at least 3 years of practical experience building Android applications in Kotlin and Java
Strong communication and collaboration skills across experience levels and disciplines
Ability to disagree constructively with respect for others’ perspectives
Stays current with modern Android development practices and continuously raises the bar for code quality, architecture, and maintainability
Passion for improving the user experience and addressing performance bottlenecks
Curiosity about emerging AI-powered user experiences and excitement to help shape the future of conversational interfaces in real estate

Responsibilities

Design and implement complex Android features that power conversational and AI-assisted experiences within the Redfin app.
Build intuitive, high-performance UI that integrates intelligent capabilities into core search and listing flows.
Drive architectural decisions for conversational interfaces.
Collaborate with your teammates by reviewing code, writing documentation, refining best practices, and building maintainable and testable codebases.
Work closely with our product and design teams to understand user and business needs.
Drive the team forward in Android best practices and design principles, bringing in cutting-edge industry trends.
