Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Economics, Finance, or related field
  • 2+ years of relevant investment or banking related work experience OR Master’s degree in Arts/Sciences (MA/MS), ASA, or FSA
  • Basic knowledge of portfolio, equity and fixed income/credit analytics
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel/VBA, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Tableau
  • Advanced company calculation and financial modelling skills
  • Investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well in an environment with multiple concurrent projects, managing project-based workflow within demanding time frames and adapt quickly to new methods
  • Intermediate oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines
  • Technology savvy, programming, and process improvement/automation skills
  • Ability to work well within a team environment and participate in department/team projects
  • Ability to initiate, think outside the box, execute, and bring ideas to fruition

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Arts/Sciences (MA/MS), MBA, ASA, or FSA
  • CFA designation or demonstrable understanding of fixed income investing
  • CPA or accounting experience
  • Familiarity with insurance asset management
  • Familiarity with alternative investments
  • Familiarity with actuarial modelling

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the implementation for raising private capital and management of fund portfolios
  • Assist with fundraising efforts, creating pitch decks, presentations, and financial models
  • Assist with due diligence processes and deal structuring on potential investment opportunities
  • Assist with the underwriting process including helping to formulate the investment thesis and the identification of key risks for new investment opportunities
  • Identify and analyze investment opportunities. This includes conducting industry research, analyzing financial statements, evaluating market trends, and assessing potential risks and returns
  • Assist with the preparation of approval memos, financial models and provides assistance to the deal lead on the presentation of investment recommendations to the investment committee
  • Keep abreast of market trends and regulatory changes
  • Compiles data and analysis for portfolio review
  • Creates periodic and ad hoc investments reporting
  • Assist with special projects, committees, and meetings as required
