Our Sales team works closely with travel agencies, United travel departments, corporate clients and more to provide phenomenal customer solutions that lead to fruitful business relationships. And through valued customer feedback, optimized partnerships, and innovative sales strategies, Sales continues to be the largest revenue-generating department at United. Key Responsibilities: Senior Analyst – Sales Strategy will perform analyses used for business decisions that may address corporate sales, channel partnerships, or other areas. This role may coordinate with other commercial groups, e.g. for route and channel support. This role may also provide analytics on sales performance to inform cross-commercial leadership meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2-4 years of experience in analysis of airline such as sales, network, revenue management, marketing, financial planning, or operations strategy; or other relevant commercial leadership experience
  • Basic data querying capabilities such as SQL, Python, SAS, R
  • Basic understanding of data visualization tools such as Power BI
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Foundational knowledge of revenue drivers for airline and B2B sales
  • Effective time management for multiple projects and deadlines
  • Understanding of revenue management and network levers and metrics
  • Ability to communicate insights to broad audience including field sales managers, commercial leaders, and customers
  • Ability to collaborate on design of analytical approach to projects and identification of key information needed to support project objective
  • Ability to quickly learn new concepts
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

Responsibilities

  • Perform analyses that evaluate sales performance, support business development efforts, or inform new offering design across range of channels and customer segments, in support of the Corporate and Channel Strategy teams or independently.
  • Manage assigned portfolio of corporate and/or channel deals and share actionable intelligence with front-line sellers and other internal & external stakeholders, to drive improvements in sales performance.
  • Support collaboration with other commercial divisions, including network, MCI, Loyalty, and revenue management, to formulate action plans to improve route performance.
  • Provide analysis of sales performance for use in cross-commercial leadership meetings.
  • Assess gaps in non-air travel content (e.g., hotels, tours, activities) using quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Prioritize non-air content needs to support United’s bundled travel product strategy.
  • Monitor non-air content performance and identify future coverage needs.
  • Communicate content requirements and insights to internal partners and ensure alignment with commercial priorities.
  • Support development of bundled (air+) product offerings with destination-level analysis.
