About The Position

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead complex US sales/use tax returns utilizing Vertex Returns platform, including detailed analysis of purchase transactions for use tax Manage other indirect tax filings, such as, international VAT/GST, property tax, unclaimed property, US Census, gross receipts, and business license. Prepare technical tax memoranda analyzing indirect tax matters including international VAT/GST, nexus determinations, product/service taxability assessments, and ASC 450 (FAS-5) contingent liability quantification. Process monthly indirect tax remittance, treasury coordination, and cash flow forecasting Manage general ledger reconciliations to ensure SOX compliance. Review & approve customer resale/exemption certificates to ensure validity for order processing. Lead cross-functional tax projects across Finance, Legal, IT, Supply Chain, and Sales teams to ensure compliance with global indirect tax requirements and drive process improvements Collaborate with M&A team on sales and use tax due diligence Take ownership of indirect tax audits such as, data gathering, report analysis, research, and auditor communications. Resolve notices received from taxing jurisdictions. Ability to identify and raise issues to tax management to ensure that the company collects, accrues, and remits the appropriate tax. Assist with system implementation projects related to tax engines, ERP upgrades, and automation tools Work on special projects as required.

Requirements

  • Progressive and relevant indirect tax experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
  • Deep knowledge of complex US sales/use tax laws and international VAT/GST
  • Experience with Vertex Returns Platform
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Operate independently with minimal supervision
  • Organized and detail oriented with the ability to prioritize competing tasks, anticipate resource needs and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to operate and succeed in an ever changing environment with competing priorities.
  • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Understands implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal and relational skills

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred, but not required.
