About The Position

RTX ES Infrastructure is seeking a Senior Analyst to join our Enterprise Monitoring team. This role will be focused on supporting the applications, platforms, and processes utilized to monitor network infrastructure for the RTX production network. The analyst will work on project initiatives while also supporting the daily operational needs of Enterprise Services and our business partners. The ideal candidate will possess technical expertise to troubleshoot complex network and application issues. This individual will be involved in all phases of administering enterprise monitoring applications, including working with vendors, installation, deployment, administration, upgrades, compliance, and support for end user issues, including AAR activities for issues impacting infrastructure and application performance.

Requirements

  • Typically Requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field.
  • 2 years experience in networking fundamentals, skilled in network and application troubleshooting.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of ITIL Foundations and/or ITIL Service Operations.
  • Working knowledge of network packet capture solutions, trace analysis, and SNMP-based network management solutions.
  • Experience with Linux-related scripting (Bash, Perl, Python, etc.) and REST APIs.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter able to adjust quickly to changing priorities, making quick decisions with limited information.
  • Adept at navigating cross functional processes, interfacing with both technical and non-technical staff at all levels.
  • Knowledge of network based synthetic testing and network transport capacity analysis.
  • Ability to translate technical information for both technical and business audiences.
  • Able to develop content and deliver user training for supported platforms.
  • Expertise with network observability processes and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot issues related to network and application performance using defined toolset.
  • Implement, configure, administer, and maintain the critical applications and related infrastructure elements that provide monitoring, alerting, and reporting for network infrastructure components on the RTX production network.
  • Facilitate vendor support and ensure compliance with all RTX policies, standards, and processes.
  • Support a flexible schedule, collaborating amongst multiple functions and frameworks to support a business- critical 24 x 7 operational environment.
  • Service user requests, maintain documentation, support management activities, project initiatives and continual process improvement efforts.
