About The Position

Responsible for the development of templates (infrastructure as code) for services available via the service catalog. Collaborate with the service architect and service consumers (application teams) to understand requirements, following architectural and security standards. Diagnose, research and resolve issues using vendor resources and other support methods. Act as a technical advisor for system related activity and assist in the development / implementation of solutions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with designing, building, deploying, and testing complex distributed systems in service environments
  • 5+ years of experience supporting Windows/Linux/Unix environment, including upgrades and migrations within an operations setting
  • 3+ years of experience with DevOps, CI/CD
  • Experience building, integrating, deploying and provisioning services, virtual servers, containers in cloud as well as on-premise
  • Expertise in multiple version control systems (Git, GitHub, Subversion)
  • Experience with configuration management systems (Chef, Puppet, BOSH, Ansible)
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, etc.)
  • Experience with CI/CD (Jenkins, Azure DevOps Pipelines, etc.)
  • Key Certification Areas (One or more): Azure Fundamentals AZ-900, Azure Administrator Associate AZ-104

Responsibilities

  • Review Reference Architect Designs for IT services, build cloud products, and provide the necessary operational environment that is required for deploying products and applications into the cloud
  • Build out the service catalog through development of infrastructure as code templates and DevSecOps pipelines based on the service architecture and identified requirements
  • Write configuration/migration scripts, and manage all services, including automating the environment, provisioning, cloning and workflow patterns
  • Design, build, and support secure cloud native infrastructure environments
  • Engage Cloud Enterprise Architecture and initiate alignment for cloud products and service architectures
  • Align Cloud Service Catalog and Cloud Service Offerings to standard architecture
  • Enforce product design patterns & standards by baking into curated design templates
  • Bake standards alignment into DevOps cycle and CI/CD pipeline via automated control points
  • Factor in specific SLA and KPI parameters and reporting requirements
  • Develop and maintain processes that enable optimizing and reporting associated with cloud cost management
  • Drive and enforce data architectures that comply with CenterPoint Energy data standards
  • Provides 24x7 on call support, including evenings, weekends and holidays on a rotational basis with other team members
  • Works in a team environment
  • Works closely with other IT team members to provide technical advice and resolve problems
  • Communicates well with technical and non-technical clients
