About The Position

Join the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Field Sustainment Team as a Senior Weapons Aircraft Systems Engineer at our Hill Air Force Base, Utah facility! What You Will Be Doing The Weapons Integration Engineering duties include: Continually track the capabilities of near-term, mid-term, and far-term air-to-air, air-to-ground weapons employment, Electronic Protection (EP) systems, and Targeting Pod (TGP) capabilities and potential adversary counter capabilities. Obtain data from validated sources and analyze weapons employment and threat data to identify and evaluate F-16 capabilities. Contribute to engineering feasibility studies that lead to recommendations for hardware and software upgrades and modifications to maximize aircraft capabilities. Provide technical input while participating in weapons integration/development, meetings and conferences such as Interface Control Working Groups (ICWG), Technical Interchange Meetings (TIM), Flight Test Plan Working Groups (TPWG) and any other relevant teams. Work with weapons development vendors to accomplish System Integration Lab (SIL) testing. This position requires occasional travel. Requirements

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited College or University
  • Tactical aircraft avionics experience.
  • Air-to-Air and Air-to -Ground weapons employment/integration and Targeting Pod (TGP) experience.
  • Significant knowledge of precision guided munitions (PGM).
  • Significant knowledge of Radar Guided and Infrared Air-to-Air missile guidance systems.
  • Knowledge of Surface-to-Air and Air-to-Air threat systems and tactics.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must possess at minimum an active Secret Security Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of aircraft systems, sub systems, and weapons software and hardware integration processes related to System Integration Lab (SIL) and flight testing.
  • Operational military aircraft flight experience.
  • F-16 aircraft avionics experience.
  • Electronic Warfare (EW) and Electronic Protection (EP) systems knowledge and experience.
  • Sun Microsystems, and Microsoft Office Applications familiarity.
  • Experience to effectively interfacing with civilian, government, Department of Defense, and defense industry representatives.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills. Self starter. Able to work well in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
