About The Position

CUNY is seeking Senior Advisor, OCIP Data & Impact, to support campus teams in developing a unified approach for tracking and measuring the impact of CUNY’s career success efforts. Serving as OCIP’s Chief Data and Impact Officer, the Senior Advisor will work together with internal and external stakeholders including, but not limited to, CUNY Central partners, campus constituents, and external organizations to capture, share, and analyze data and KPIs that guide CUNY’s progress towards strategic goals. The position reports to the Vice Chancellor, Career Engagement & Industry Partnerships. This is a grant-funded position until December 31, 2026 with the possibility of extension.

Requirements

  • Four+ years of experience conceiving and implementing data collection, monitoring, and reporting strategies, preferably related to programs impacting higher education and workforce training.
  • Experience with workforce program development and management.
  • Ability to independently facilitate working groups, workshops, and meetings.
  • Experience managing project deadlines, progress reports, and updates.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders and collaborators, while being able to address a variety of challenges that may arise.
  • Creative, entrepreneurial, and resourceful.
  • Ability to evaluate progress, recommend changes, and quickly pivot.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Ability to translate technical requirements into functional processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in post-secondary education and/or social services is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to navigate CUNY Central (or comparable institution) and outside support to gain a strong command of the tool and be able to act as a data expert.
  • Familiarity with Airtable and data visualizations.
  • Experience with EAB Navigate a plus.
  • Prior understanding of CUNY Central and campus relationship helpful but not required.
  • Experience with career and workforce development.

Responsibilities

  • Outline OCIP’s strategy for measuring and learning from CUNY Beyond and CUNY Lifting NY initiatives, including metrics to guide programmatic work and align to overarching goals and research
  • Diagram an integrated system of data sources, pipelines, and standard reports to support ongoing implementation, measurement and learning for OCIP’s operations (e.g. operational reports for CUNY Beyond campus leaders for day-to-day programmatic decisions)
  • Document and continuously improve OCIP’s internal data governance and usage in alignment with OAREDA and CUNY policies (e.g. collection, management, sharing, and reporting processes)
  • Facilitate AY25-26's Cap & Gown development process, prioritizing stakeholder alignment, increasingly representative results, and user-centered enhancements to the measurement tool, data, and reports
  • Align on a prioritized annual scope of work for OCIP and OAREDA for the AY
  • Establish roadmaps/project plans for the co-development of AY’s scoped priorities
  • Support development of a CUNY-wide program database by stewarding the integration of OCIP’s transactional data
  • Define and standardize transactional data for OCIP programs and interventions
  • Working together with OAREDA, establish a research agenda for OCIP, including formalizing questions, scoping design, identifying data sources, and planning multi-year approach
  • Collaborate closely with OCIP staff including existing data leaders
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
