Copeland is seeking a Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to lead CNC machining strategy and process development within our Advanced Manufacturing Technology (AMT) organization. Based in Sidney, Ohio, this role plays a key part in developing global machining solutions, advancing digital manufacturing capabilities, and supporting new product development. This is a high-impact position with the opportunity to influence global manufacturing standards, implement advanced technologies, and drive continuous improvement across multiple facilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in CNC machining, manufacturing engineering, or process development
  • Strong understanding of technical drawings, including GD&T
  • Experience with 3D CAD/CAM software (e.g., NX, SolidWorks, Inventor)
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Ability to travel up to ~5%
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Nice To Haves

  • 10+ years of relevant manufacturing engineering experience
  • Experience machining cast iron
  • Experience with highly automated manufacturing systems
  • Proficiency with Siemens NX and CAM programming tools
  • Experience with machine simulation software (e.g., Vericut)
  • Familiarity with Teamcenter or other PLM systems
  • Lean manufacturing and/or SPC training or certification

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deploy CAM solutions for CNC machining operations across global manufacturing sites
  • Support new product development by creating CNC programs and machining processes that meet quality, cost, and delivery targets
  • Drive development of Digital Twin capabilities through enhanced CAD/CAM modeling and simulation
  • Support AMT lab research and development activities, including CNC programming, process validation, and troubleshooting
  • Identify critical product characteristics and assess manufacturability to inform production strategy and investment decisions
  • Lead or support capital equipment projects, including specification, procurement, and implementation of machines, tooling, and gauging
  • Utilize digital tools and simulation software to validate machining processes and production performance
  • Provide clear communication and project updates to cross-functional teams and leadership
  • Research and integrate emerging manufacturing technologies into production environments
